West End Heights in Ithaca is Now Accepting Initial Lease-Up Applications

Lakeview Health Services, Inc. is excited to announce the opening of the initial rent-up apartment lease application period for West End Heights, a five-story-60-unit apartment building located at 701 West Court Street in the City of Ithaca. Twenty-two apartments will be available to individuals in the community who qualify for affordable housing, including Section 8 housing. 

Rental applications for initial lease-up will become available on September 13, 2021.  Completed applications must be received by the 4:00 pm EST deadline on November 12, 2021. Rental applications received during the initial application period and prior to the deadline will be eligible to be included in the random lottery to be held on November 30, 2021. Applications will be processed in the order drawn in the lottery and will be subject to income limits and other qualifying restrictions. All rental applications received after the November 12th deadline will be placed on a wait list in the order received. The 60 unit building will be comprised of the twenty-two affordable units; twenty units will house individuals who are residents in Lakeview’s supportive apartment or congregate living programs which are certified by the NYS Office of Mental Health (OMH) and an additional eighteen units will provide permanent supportive housing for those who are homeless or at risk of homelessness and are also vulnerable due to mental illness, substance use disorder, or HIV/AIDS.

Funding for this project is provided by NYS Homes and Community Renewal (HCR), including Low Income Housing Tax Credits and the NYS Supportive Housing Opportunity Program, NYS Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance (OTDA), Homeless Housing and Assistance Program (HHAP), the New York State Office of Mental Health, the Tompkins County Community Housing Development Fund and the Empire State Supportive Housing Initiative.

Founded in 1978, LHS is a private not-for-profit agency with over 43 years of experience providing quality housing services that offer stabilization, support, and dignity to individuals recovering from mental illnesses in six counties in the Central Finger Lakes Region. LHS currently manages units for adults in a six-county area in the Finger Lakes Region including licensed community residences, apartment treatment programs, a single room occupancy program, scattered site supportive housing and community apartments.
